Coriander's Ethnic Indian Restaurant
OUR STORY

Bringing North India to Christchurch

Corianders began with a single kitchen and a straightforward belief: that North Indian cooking, done honestly, is one of the great pleasures of the table. That means spices ground fresh each morning - not from jars, never from shortcuts - a menu built around the full breadth of the cuisine rather than just the familiar names, and a dining room where every guest feels genuinely welcome. What started at Bush Inn has grown into five venues across Christchurch, from the beachside setting at Sumner to the communities of Rolleston, West Melton, and St. Asaph Street. Each venue carries the same kitchen philosophy and the same standards. The team behind Corianders has spent years learning the regional cooking traditions of North India - the tandoor techniques, the spice ratios, the slow-braised gravies that take most of a day to build - and bringing them to Christchurch tables with care and without compromise. Every dish on the menu can be adjusted to your heat preference, from mild and fragrant to properly, honestly hot. All mains are gluten free. There is a full vegetarian and vegan menu, and a kids' menu for the younger guests. We are fully licensed and BYO. Whether you're coming in for a quick weekday lunch, a special occasion dinner, or a large group celebration, we'll look after you.
